Medical Psychiatric Unit,  is a specialty unit for the treatment of psychiatric patients with physical illness who cannot be managed on a general psychiatric unit due to the nature and severity of the medical illness. Patients are admitted to this unit from other hospital units. The unit minimizes disruption of the patient's psychiatric treatment while away from their home unit through treatment team review of the patient's program objectives. These objectives are continued/modified as determined to be appropriate based on the patient's medical condition.  Capacity is 8.
