COMMUNICATIONS: The hospital operator is responsible for receiving and directing telephone calls; serving as a localized base station for radio communications throughout the various hospital departments and units; and functioning as a monitor for the fire alarm system of the entire facility. PRINT SHOP is responsible for rapid reproduction of various printed material to be utilized throughout the hospital. POSTAL SERVICE is responsible for all incoming and outgoing mail and parcels for hospital operations and patients housed in our facility. TRANSPORTATION is responsible for patient transports in emergency situations, medical clinics, doctors' appointments and discharges. These include transports in-house and to outside facilities. The Transportation Section is also responsible for mail being distributed throughout the different units and departments of the hospital and ensuring "pool cars" (vehicles) are available for employees performing hospital duties, attending training seminars and other functions.
