The primary purpose of Creative/Expressive Arts Therapies is to provide, through the arts, a natural avenue for creative expression, normalization, socialization and independence.  Through involvement in goal oriented C/E Arts sessions, patients are given opportunities to participate in therapeutic activities designed to meet indentified needs.  The Creative/Expressive Arts Department works collaboratively with other disciplines and Unit Active Treatment Programs to accomplish these goals.  Staff members function as and integral part of the interdisciplinary hospital treatment teams in an effort to return the consumer to his or her optimal level of functioning.  Qualified staff provide Creative/Expressive Arts services consistent with professional standards of practice.
