Adolescent Unit is a specialty unit providing intensive inpatient treatment for mentally, emotionally and behaviorally disturbed adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17. The length of treatment depends on the severity of the psychopathology of the patient, the availability of family and community resources, their commitment to the treatment program and the motivation and response of the patient during the treatment program. The treatment milieu of this unit is carefully structured, coordinated, and integrated to provide the following comprehensive services: a complete diagnostic evaluation that includes psychiatric, medical, nursing, individual and group therapy, family counseling, nutritional services, therapeutic activities, structured group living, vocational evaluation and rehabilitation, and interagency correlation. In addition, adolescents are enrolled in a year-round accredited school program. Capacity is 16. |
