The Cherry Foundation, Inc. - A 501(c)(3) Organization

This not-for-profit and tax-exempt organization was established to provide further assistance to those affected by mental illness while admitted at Cherry Hospital. Contributions are tax deductible and are utilized directly for the therapeutic care of the patient.  Gifts may be made in the form of endowments, cash donations, State Employees Combined Campaign, or honorary/memorial contributions.

This organization is a separate entity from Cherry Hospital. The Cherry Foundation was officially recognized and chartered March 31, 1997 by the State of North Carolina. Created for the sole purpose of assisting the mentally ill of eastern North Carolina, the Foundation was granted federal tax-exempt status, 501 (c)(3) by Internal Revenue Service guidelines.
